Treatment options are broad ranging, from the use of devices such as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) masks for sleep apnoea, to minor surgery for the removal of impacted teeth, through to major corrective and reconstructive surgery for jaw misalignment, facial trauma and cancers. Our oral and maxillofacial surgeons have broad experience in all areas of oral and maxillofacial surgery. They work in a multi-disciplinary team alongside specialists including: radiologists, orthodontists, ENT surgeons, oncologists, and plastic surgeons. We offer convenient appointments and onsite imaging services to help determine a diagnosis.

Removal of Impacted Teeth

Wisdom teeth are usually your last teeth to emerge and sometimes there isn’t enough room for them. If this is the case they come through at an angle or partially emerge. This is called impacted teeth.

The removal of impacted teeth may be required if they are causing you problems such as pain, swelling and infection. Wisdom teeth extraction is a common procedure that takes just a few minutes. It involves rocking and twisting your impacted wisdom tooth to loosen and remove it. If your wisdom tooth ismore difficult to remove, your OMS may make a gum incision near your wisdom tooth so that they can remove a small piece of bone to help get the tooth out.
